Ever notice that some bathing suits look way better on your friends, your sister, or other people in general than you feel it looks on you?
Well of course we can be harder on ourselves than we ought to be, but bathing suits can be another avenue where fittings are not alwaya made equal.

These bathing suits vary, but serve the short torso very well. When it comes to the bathing suit, we want our torso to be well defined.
One pieces with a plunging neckline, or a strongly defining waist, or both (which I prefer most) greatly equate our propotions to give us the sexy figure we know exists.
Of course the one piece is not the only option for us. A two piece with a plunging neck line and medium rise bottoms can also serve well at defining the figure.
The plunging neckline with the thicker adjustable strap (first bathing suit) has always been my preffered choice, due to my larger breast size. It tends to supply more support.

Now when it comes to two pieces, a common question may regard "high waist or low waist?" or "short top or long top?".
Be careful with high waisted bottoms. The second bathing suit above shows a medium waist bottom, which should be the highest waisted bottom chosen.
Too high of a waist can drown the torso, and cause the look similar in those high waisted shorts that come up too high. It also does not even out the body in regards to sort torso types.
Try to stay away from boy shorts. They tend to migrate up the body, and provide too high of a cut. They also stunt the look of the legs, which can make us look shorter.
Low waisted bottoms can work well with certain short toros, but make sure your buttox crack is well covered. It all depends on where your buttox crack starts. The low waist can accentuate the long legs which is a plus. However, if you have the high buttox crack issue like I do, your legs will still be super awesome in the medium waisted bottoms.
The second bathing suit above shows a top more suitable for a smaller bust, but in all honesty, try to stick to a top with a shorter cut, meaning one that does not extend past the bust. The first photo above provides a great example of bikini tops suitible for our body (first photo, first bathing suit).
The green bathing suit (second photo, third bathing suit) is exceptional for a longer cut top. Those crevasses reduce the illusion of reducing the body, which is a typical issue with longer tops. However, this needs to be accompanied by a low waisted bottom.
Recap:
1. One pieces should define the waist, have a plunging neckline, or both.
2. Two pieces with a plunging neckline, a shorter top, and a medium or low waisted bottom are best for short torsos.
3. Avoid boy shorts and long bikini tops
4. A Long bikini top can work as long as they reduce the illusion of reducing the body, and is accompanied by a low waisted bottom. eg. photo 2, third bathing suit.
